this was the Basic name used to describe the huge, open-air arena in which the Geonosian race meted out their violent justice. The arena was lined with ornate tiers, in which thousands of Geonosians could witness the spectacles staged on the arena floor. A main pulpit jutted out from one point, where Poggle the Lesser and other clan leaders could pronounce whether an individual was to die immediately, or was destined to fight one of the vicious creatures kept beneath the arena. Set off-center on the Arena floor were several free-standing columns, to which prisoner were chained during their "trial". Several portals opening off the main arena floor led to the underground catacombs where huge beasts were starved and goaded into vicious rages before they were released into the arena. In this way, any being sentenced to death in the arena had to face an exceptionally angry opponent, which added to the spectacle.
