this was the designation of a modern proton torpedo launching system developed for the Old Republic during the height of the Clone Wars. Each torpedo had a range of some 3,000 meters, and could accelerate to speeds of 20,000 kilometers per hours when fired. These torpedoes were unaffected by energy fields, allowing them to pierce most starship shielding systems.
