this was a general term used to describe any automaton that was analogous to a second-degree droid, capable of performing technical and engineering activities. The primary difference was that the Class 2 Multi-phasic robot was equipped with near-sentient programming, allowing it to interact on a personal level with most of the galaxy's races.
