this inhospitable planet was once scouted by the Empire as a possible location of a base. Some ten years after the Battle of Endor, the fallen Jedi Rosh Penin sent a distress signal to his one-time friend, Jaden Korr, asking for help. Penin's message indicated that he was being held prisoner on Taspir III. Although Jaden thought the mission was a trap, Kyle Katarn decided that they needed to answer the distress call on the off-chance that Penin was in real trouble. The two Jedi found that the Imperial base was quite operational, and that the Disciples of Ragnos had also taken up residence on the planet.
