the DC-17 blaster pistol was produced by the Old Republic for the clone troopers that fought during the Clone Wars. It was much more accurate - and much more powerful - than most standard-issue blaster pistols, and had a much higher rate of fire. This allowed specialized units of Jet Troopers to unleash a barrage of blaster fire as they moved through the sky.
