this was a specialized form of encryption, which involved a multiple-step process to get to the final message. They were denoted as "onetime loops" because they were specific to a certain's day's news on the HoloNet. A keyword in the morning news provided a way to partially decipher the code, revealing a series of numbers that referred to a textbook that was available on the HoloNet. These textbooks were usually incredibly boring to read, which kept them out of the mainstream. Once the text was discovered, it was translated from Basic into Symbian. Then, every sixth word was transposed to reveal the original message. This system of securing messages was adopted by the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the height of the Clone Wars, to ensure that even the most basic communication was not deciphered by the forces of the Old Republic.
