this planet was embargoed by the Old Republic several years before the onset of the Clone Wars, when the government refused to pay its taxes. The embargo came just before a plague struck the planet, and the Republic refused to allow shipments of the antidote to reach the planet's surface. Several smugglers managed to break through the blockade, and the planet's population eventually survived the threat.
