Interstitial Shield
this was a form of stationary cloaking shield used to mask the presence of a starship after it had landed on the ground. It used a speciallized light filter to draw information from the surrounding environment, and then projected that information onto the shield itself. Thus, in between the gaps of the shield itself, images were projected that made the starship within the shield seem to disappear. Despite being referred to as a cloaking device, the interstitial shield was only good for stationary objects.
