Spyscope
this was a generic term used to describe any surveillance system used to view a nearby area without being discovered. Often composed of a fiber-optic cable for flexibility, the spyscope could be pushed into cracks and crevices to allow the user to see what was happening behind doors or walls. The spyscope could be connected to a small datapad to view what it saw, or it could be connected directly into a soldier's helmet for a heads-up display.
