this small creature was bio-engineered by the Yuuzhan Vong to serve as a form of identification. Resembling a fist-sized nugget of flesh and fur, the lumpen's bodily fluids contained special chemicals that signified an individual's authority to access certain areas. When squeezed, the lumpen exuded its fluids onto a piece of parchment, which could be read for the proper signs of identification.
