this skittish creature was once native to the Yuuzhan Vong homeworld of Yuuzhan'tar. It was bred in captivity by the members of the Priest caste for generations, primarily for the unusual scent gland located on its dorsal side. This gland produced a fragrant vapor which the priests believed would purify any being who walked through it.
