this sporting rifle was produced in very limited quantities by Imperial Munitions, during the height of the Galactic Civil War. Production of the LD-1a, which was based on the Merr-Sonn LD-1 weapon, was so secret that many weapons experts considered the LD-1a more of a myth than a reality. Nevertheless, the LD-1a was actually produced, with an overfocused energy beam that was thinner but deadlier than that of the standard LD-1 model.
