this tall, thin series of combat droid was originally conceived by the Phlut Design Systems corporation. The plans for the IG-series were seized by the InterGalactic Banking Clan, when PDS defaulted on a loan payment, and were eventually turned over to the Trade Federation. The IG Lancer was developed with the Muun physiology in mind, with a tall skull and thin limbs. The IG-series droid was much stronger than the standard battle droids of the Trade Federation, and could respond quicker to new orders. The first set of IG-series droids saw action on the planet Muunilinst, when Durge was given command of droids as part of a planetary security force. They were armed with power lances, and rode speeder bikes into combat. The IG-series first saw combat during the Battle of Muunilinst. The plans for the IG Lancer droid were eventually recovered during the New Order, as the basis for Project Phlutdroid.
