Travia Chan's chief of staff during the Galactic Civil War, Carplin was a large, incredibly strong man known for his combat skills. He travelled from outpost to outpost, gathering data to feed back to Chan. He was assisted by the Wookiee, Busurra, who acted as his replacement when Carplin was away from the Generis base.
