this regime took control of the government of Abregado-Rae shortly after the Battle of Endor, claiming that they wanted to eliminate all criminal activities and make Abregado-Rae a law-abiding world. Made up from offworlders who had made Abregado-rae their home, the Tundei was founded with the help of the Herglic known as Shelov. The activities of the planet were governed by the Tundei Tribunal. While their efforts worked initially, their strongarm methods of enforcing the new laws eventually backfired. Smugglers who once flocked to the planet as a haven changed their tactics to supplying the opponents of the Tundei regime with weapons and food. When stronger actions were taken to block this activity, the smuggling community simply stopped working on Abregado-Rae altogether, since their profit margins dwindled while the risks multiplied. Eventually, Tundei regulations starved the planet of billions of credits, both legitimate and illegal, and the planet nearly went bankrupt. When the Yuuzhan Vong invaded the galaxy, the Tundei found themselves overwhelmed by refugees demanding a place to hide.
