developed during the last decades of the Old Republic, tracer orbs were small devices used to monitor an individual's location. Shaped like an eyeball, a tracer orb could be implanted in place of an organic eye, allowing the user to send detailed visual information back to a central location. The technology behind a tracer orb's abilities was based on nanotechnology imbedded in organic matter.
