this T'Syriel was elected the Demarch of the Twelve Tribes of Shiva IV shortly before the Battle of Yavin. Against the history of his people, Keral agreed to become the blood-brother to Aron Peacebringer, forging a bond between the T'syriel and human populations of the planet. However, both of them agreed that life on Shiva IV had been happier before the peace accord was signed, when small battles were easily won in comparison to the resistance of the Outcasts. During a mission to investigate the fate of the city of K'avor, Keral and his companions located Leia Organa, who had crashlanded on the planet. Leia was in the sector to investigate the build-up of Imperial forces in the area, and her shuttle had been hit by a micromine. When Leia and Aron were kidnapped by General Sk'ar, Keral found that his forces could not be mobilized in time to launch a rescue mission. Luckily, Luke Skywalker, Lando Calrissian, and Chewbacca had arrived on Shiva IV to look for Leia. They agreed to help Keral launch an attack on Sk'ar's warship, defeating the alien General before he could attack Illyriaqum.
