Tan Pel'trokal
this was the term used by the Korunnai to describe their particular form of punishment, known as "jungle justice", carried out against those Balawai who offended or otherwise harmed the Korunnai. As was customary, Balawai who were subjected to the tan pel'trokal were blindfolded and taken deep into the jungle. There, they were stripped of all their possessions, including clothing and supplies, and left to survive on their own. In this way, the Korunnai removed the fallability of the human being from the judgement of another being, leaving the jungle itself to decide one's fate. Very few Balawai ever returned alive. Because the Balawai controlled the daylight hours with their gunship patrols, the Korunnai chose to set loose their prisoners at night.
