in the years which followed the decline of podracing's popularity and the ravages of the Clone Wars, the former Mos Espa Grand Arena on Tatooine was more or less abandoned by the Desilijic Hutts. It was eventually taken over by a small band of swoop racers, who used it to stage a regular series of semi-legitimate races during the early years of the New Republic.
