built from the hull of a decommissioned freighter, this casino hotel was the sister to Mos Eisley's Lucky Despot. Located in the city of Mos Ethna, the Lucky Star was owned and operated by Shiri'ani, who was one of Lady Valarian's most trusted subordinates. Because of Valarian's negotiations with the New Republic, Shiri'ani was not required to pay any form of taxes to the New Republic based on the operations or income from the Lucky Star, a fact that made the bottom line of the business quite spectacular. In order to draw a larger tourist trade, Shiri'ani promoted the Lucky Star as the only place that off-worlders could experience the "real Tatooine." To this end, she hired a select group of local criminals to serve as regulars. In addition to its legitimate operations, the Lucky Star also served as a base of operations for Shiri'ani's smuggling and gambling organizations.
