this man, a native of Carida and a graduate of the Imperial Academy once located on the planet, served as a Corporal in the Imperial armed forces during the height of the New Order. His family's ancestors originated on Coruscant, and Vune was one of the few members of his generation to visited the capital of the Empire. During his training, Vune was recognized as an excellent marksman, and he led the Academy's sharpshooting team during his education on Carida. He was eventually chosen to join the Imperial Security Bureau by Ysanne Isard herself, and his first mission was the elimination of an Alliance spy who turned out to he his own grandfather. Vune completed the mission and was commended for his actions. Howeeer, he was later courtmartialed by the Empire for his part in an assassination attempt on Emperor Palpatine. During the Galactic Games, which were being held on Coruscant, Willic arranged to have scan-shielded thermal detonators placed within the Emperor's dais. In order to ensure secrecy, Willic murdered the prior leader, Lieutenant Brot Gorrell, and arranged to be promoted into Gorrell's position. All but one of the explosives was discovered and disarmed, but the single detonator exploded under the Emperor's feet. Palpatine somehow survived the blast, and spotted Willic fleeing the scene. He ordered Willic arrested and held for trial. The trial, in which Willic was prosecuted by Ysanne Isard, resulted in the death penalty for Willic's actions.
