this Imperial nerve agent was created in a laboratory on Coruscant during the last years of the New Order. The espionage droid known as the IT planned to use zemex to incapacitate the entire Senate of the fledgeling New Republic, as part of a plan to eliminate the Republic and reclaim Coruscant for the Empire.
