Thornsniper
this unusual plant was found in the jungles of the planet Caamas. It was a woody shrub, whose extensive root system spread underground for up to ten meters from the thick trunk. The leaves of the thornsniper were covered with thorns, which could be forcefully ejected from the plant itself. The thornsniper fired its thorns whenever it sensed a nearby vibration, and could detect the target's position by monitoring the vibrations through its roots. It was not a mobile plant, however, and basically waited for its victim to die and decompose. Then, it could absorb nutrients through the roots.
