this was the short-barreled blaster weapon produced by the Baktoid Armor Workshop, for use by the Trade Federation's E-5 battle droids. The fact that this weapon was developed for use by droid fighters allowed Baktoid to cut back on many areas - such as heat dissipation and recoil - which posed safety concerns for living users.
