this Yuuzhan Vong warrior was in command of the forces which protected the aliens' base on Wayland, some 28 years after the Battle of Endor. A warrior of the Nuun, Tsaa Qalu chafed at the inexperienced forces he was provided to guard the Mount Tantiss ruins, but kept his own skills razor-sharp. Rather than capture Klin-Fa Gi and Uldir Lochett, Tsaa Qalu chose to let them escape the planet, in hopes of pursuing them into space and locating the hidden Jedi base. The Shapers on Wayland ordered Tsaa Qalu to take the Throat Slasher and hunt down the infidels, and he nearly succeeded. However, a side mission was to ensure that Bey Gandan reached Thyferra in order to deliver the virus which would destroy the alazhi trees. Tsaa Qalu played his game to perfection, despite the misgivings of his crew, and managed to get Bey to Thyferra despite the efforts of the Dug, Leaft. However, Leaft had decided that the Yuuzhan Vong were not going to let him live, so he fought back against Tsaa Qalu and his crew. The Dug stole a coralskipper and used the cognition hood in the craft to force the Throat Slasher to crash into Thyferra. Tsaa Qalu and his entire crew were killed in the explosion.
