Barefoot Squadron
this was the name given to Tahiri Veila's starfighter group, established in the wake of the Battle of Coruscant to augment the depleted forces of the New Republic. Tahiri's position as a Jedi Knight and a survivor of the assault on the voxyn queen at Myrkr gave her leadership credentials, and the pilots of Barefoot Squadron quickly adapted to her style of leadership. Most, including the executive officer hand-picked by Admiral Traest Kre'fey himself, fought bravely in battle as well as in support of their leader. Unfortunately, like many New Republic squadrons of the time, Barefoot Squadron had a high percentage of green pilots, recruited from the planetary defense fleets in response to the Yuuzhan Vong invasion.
