this was a unique form of explosive, developed and used during the last decades of the Old Republic. In order to produce the most intense blast, core bombs employed a mixture of magnopium and ferrocongregate. Core bombs were so powerful that they required a high-power detonation device. In order to make the detonator small enough to hold in a being's hand, it had to be fashioned from chromium. Thus, chromium detonators were easily recognized as being paired with a core bomb.
