this planet was the site of a Mon Calamari colony, during the early years of the New Order. When the Empire began making plans to eliminate the shipyards of Calamari, they chose Ruisto as a suitable training location. Using a fleet of Star Destroyers, the Empire bombarded Ruisto's surface, obliterating the entire Mon Calamari colony.
