this planet was the homeworld of the Gossam race. The planet was, at one point, essentially owned by the Commerce Guild, which purchased huge tracts of land and facilities in return for the indentured labor of the Gossam people. The planet was eventually repurchased by Shu Mai, but she kept taxes high in order to maintain strict control of her people. During the height of the Clone Wars, however, the forces of the Grand Army of the Republic were able to regain control of the planet, removing the Separatists from power.
