Tracer Beacon
this was a version of the standard homing beacon, used during the last decades of the Old Republic. Resembling a small disc, the tracer was placed on the hull of a starship to track to hyperspace. The tracer was quite powerful, but it could often be discovered by a criminal or smuggler because of the cloakign shadow it gave off. This shadow registered as a sensor image of the target ship, on the target ship's sensors.
