TribBot
this series of mimic droids, produced by RetSpan Audionics, mimicked the vocal output of a singer. This allowed the TribBot to reproduce sound slugs of popular artists, without the owner having to actually purchase the "official" slug. This was considered piracy by many artists and music producers, who responded by employed automata that blocked the recording of their music. Many times, this was a forceful prohibition, using specially-camouflaged combat droids.
