this was the primary governmental agency concerned with monitoring the immigration of beings to the planet Coruscant, during the last decades of the Old Republic. Shortly before the onset of the Clone Wars, the CMoI was forced to close Coruscant to immigrants, in an effort to decrease the overcrowding of its ports, as well as to address security and medical concerns across the planet.
