this woman was one of the many workers who went on strike, after Chancellor Palpatine announced that there would be a vote on the formation of an Army of the Republic, shortly before the onset of the Clone Wars. Leeds was the unofficial leader of a group of more than 500 workers who protested the formation of the army, claiming that tax credits collected on Chandrila would be sent to the Republic for the army, rather than staying on Chandrila to pay for civil services and local security.
