near the end of the Old Republic, it was recommended that each member world form its own Planetary Security Force, in order to ensure that the planets were protected while ensuring that the Republic's forces were not stretched too thinly. Many planets, such as Corellia, took this matter seriously. This led to the creation of CorSec - the Corellian Security Force.
