this man represented his homeworld of Frego in the Old Republic Senate, some eleven years before the Battle of Naboo. While outwardly the Senator seemed willing to assist Lena Cobral in escaping Frego to testify against the Cobral crime family, Qui-Gon Jinn later found evidence linking Crote to the murder of Rutin Cobral. When the Degarian II was destroyed while on its way to Coruscant - supposedly carrying Lena Cobral and the Jedi - Senator Crote believed that he had finally cleared away any obstacles to the Cobral's power. However, when Lena and the Jedi arrived on Coruscant on a second ship, and testified against him, Senator Crote's career was destroyed.
