this planet was the site of an Imperial databank, during the height of the Galactic Civil War. Before the Empire took control of the planet, it was known as a haven for smugglers, who used the myriad of tunnels and caverns as hiding placeds. Luke Skywalker and Chewbacca traveled to the planet some months after the Battle of Hoth, in an effort to gather information on what really happened to Shira Brie. Much of the planet's crust was inhabited by strange slugs, and it was believed that these slugs built the crystalline cocoon which housed the Imperial databank.
