this swampy planet was a forgotten Sith world,the stuff of legends that found its way into spooky stories and anti-Jedi conspiracy theories. It wasn't until the Clone Wars, after it was discovered that Count Dooku had altered the records in the Jedi Archives, that Jedi Master Yoda discovered that the Dromund System was real. Yoda found that Dooku had erased more than three dozen systems from the Archives, so that their history with the Sith would remain a secret. Its location was deep in the heart of the ancient Sith Empire, although it was a remote world that was considered something of a backwater swamp world. During the Galactic Civil War, it was rumored that Emperor Palpatine used the planet as a training ground for many of his Dark Jedi apprentices, although nothing could be proven because Yoda never made his discoveries public. Kyle Katarn discovered the planet's location while investigating ancient inscriptions found on Altyr 5, and he nearly succombed to the Dark Side of the Force there. However, Mara Jade managed to locate him and pull him back from the brink. Katarn's investigation led him to discover that a Sith compound had been established on Dromund Kaas by Darth Millennial, a Sith acolyte who rejected the Rule of Two and set out on his own in the wake of the Battle of Ruusan. It was believed that this rogue sect later became the Prophets of the Dark Side. Jedi Master Luke Skywalker later worked with the New Republic to remove Dromund Kaas from many planetary databases and navigational maps, in order to keep its location a secret until a strong contingent of Jedi Knights could determine how best to eliminate its threat. Dromund Kaas, the third world in the Dromund System, was orbited by a pair of moons.
