Gray Death
this was the name used by the natives of the planet Sedesia to describe the mysterious disease which afflicted them, during the height of the Galactic Civil War. There were rumors that the Gray Death had been engineered by the Empire, and unleashed on the Sedesians in order to quell their rebellious nature. The Alliance sent a team of experts to investigate, especially when the Imperials suddenly claimed to have solved it. The Imperial cure required that every Sedesian receive a regular booster shot. Investigation revealed that the Gray Death was actually the Imperial pathogen known as FNV-23. The "cure" was known as FNV-23-B, and actually contained latent FNV-23 within it. The Alliance managed to discover the secret to FNV-23 and helped the Sedesian people overcome its effects.
