this was the follow-on version of the TIE Advanced x1 starfighter. Like its predecessor, the TIE/x2 was equipped with a hyperdrive. Also like the x2, the x2 was a prorotype design which was never destined for mass production. It was believed that the TIE/x3 would be the production model in this series.
