Mayda, Jos
this young man was the son of Desto Mayda and a childhood friend of Dair Haslip, and planned to attend the Raithal Academy with him. When the Empire arrived to take control of Garos IV, Dair and Jos were exploring the caves of Mount Usca when they came upon an Imperial patrol. The scout troopers attacked, believing them to be members of the rebel underground. Jos was shot and killed before Dair could react, but Dair managed to kill both troopers. Jos' death was the event which made Dair switch his alliance from the Empire to the underground rebels.
