this Alliance ambush tactic involved misaligning the sublight drive systems of a cargo ship, in order to fool enemy sensors into believing the ship truly needed maintenance. The additional radiation emitted by the "faulty" drive masked the fact that the cargo ship's bays were loaded with tons of explosives. When the ship was detained by Imperial authorities, it could be remotely detonated, destroying the Imperial ship.
