this was a species of lily which grew in the shallow waters of the planet Somov Rit. Sprouting from the wide, dish-shaped leaf of the maslak was a tall stalk, atop which grew an enormous bulb. The bulb contained seeds, which had wing-like petals that allowed them to be carried on the wind when the plant reproduced.
