this sport became popular during the last decades of the Old Republic, and its popularity continued wel into the era of the New Order. Originally a Rodian hunting competition geared toward honing a hunter's marksmanship skills in a three-dimensional arena, grav-ball evolved into a full-fledged sport played across the galaxy. Using repulsor-equipepd chairs which provided incredible maneuverability, teammates used low-powered repulsor blasts to move a small sphere across the playing field. The idea was to get the sphere across the opponent's goal line. The playing field was a boxed-shaped arena measuring 150 meters in length, 50 meters in width, and 50 meters in height. The playing sphere was equipped with a small repulsor engine, and moved about in an erratic fashion when hit. This made the sphere's position difficult to judge.
