this Abyssin ritual was observed by two tribes in times of famine or drought. The tribes which met at an oasis would fight until all members of a tribe were killed or incapacitated in order to secure the right to consume the water. Over time, Blooding became a method by which irreconcilable disputes between two enemies were resolved, with the victor gaining all the loser's possessions.
