Rikyam
this was the name of the feathery, coiled mass of ganglia that served as the "brain" of a Yuuzhan Vong worldship. It was protected by a thick shell, and could only be accessed by a Shaper. Specialized forms of rikyams were used as libraries to house qahsa memory banks. The rikyam served to provide the basic guidance needed to keep the worldship alive, freeing the Shapers to mold the ship into the desired form. This allowed the worldships to become self-contained ecosystems, maintaining the delicate balance of life throughout generations of travel through the intergalactic void.
