Rules of Engagement
this doctrine, developed by the Jedi Knights of the Old Republic, discussed the many ways in which a situation could be addressed by a Jedi in the field. The fifth rule stated that a Jedi must understand the dark and light in all things. The sixth stated a Jedi must learn to see things accurately. The seventh rule required the Jedi to open his or her eyes to what is not evident in the situation. The eighth rule urged the Jedi to exercise caution, even in trivial matters.
