this was the primary governing body of the Trade Federation, and was responsible for making the strategic decisions of the Federation. Also known as the Directorate, this seven-member body was controlled by the Neimoidian Inner Circle. Shortly before the Battle of Naboo, Darth Sidious arranged to have six of the seven members of the Board assassinated, leaving Nute Gunray as the sole survivor and, therefore, the new Viceroy. Gunray then filled the remaining six positions with puppets who would do his bidding.
