Black Widow Nebula
this dense cloud of gas surrounded a small proto-star. The gas cloud appeared to be dark brown or black in color, because the small star provided little light to the interior of the cloud. What little light it provided gave a deep red glow to to the central portion of the nebula. When viewed from far away, the nebula resembled a huge spider.
