this planet was a lush, tropical paradise covered with dense jungles, warm oceans, and wide sandy beaches. It was settled during the height of the Old Republic, several millennia before the Battle of Yavin. During the Galactic Civil War, an Alliance protocol droid which contained vital information on their activities in the sector and on the use of Hervack Starport on Steelious was lost on Yarrv and damaged. It reverted back to its former programming as a butler, and was inserted into the household of Baron Karin of Darpheos. Alliance agents had to infiltrate the Baron's house and recover the droid before Karin could decipher the information and use it against the Alliance and start a war with Steelious. The people of Yarrv were separated into twenty different castes, and each baron had a cross-section of these castes in his realm. The small number of barons controlled over ninety percent of the planet's wealth. All the barons were ruled by a planetary King.
