Bestine
a small farming community on Tatooine, Bestine was the first of the modern settlements established on the desert planet. It was first settled some 99 years before the Battle of Yavin, just prior to the settling of Fort Tusken. The settlement of Bestine was considered the official capital of the planet Tatooine, and was located about 200 kilometers west of Mos Eisley. Historians believed that the name of the settlement originated from the Corellian myth of the bestine gemstone, because the settlement of Bestine was an oasis in the endless expanse of desert.
